Living in Atlanta by way of Baton Rouge, Louisiana I truly appreciate when I find authentic Creole and Cajun food. Louisiana Bistreaux in Buckhead, Atlanta definitely understood the assignment! My experience was wonderful - Our server had oysters and hurricanes (cocktails) ready to go upon arrival. The staff was very attentive and gave good recommendations. I loved the Mardi Gras themed décor!
Here is what I tried and loved:
-Hurricane - Blend of light and dark Bacardi USA Rum with fruit juices.
-Bistreaux Oysters - Oysters on the half shell topped with white wine garlic butter, Parmesan then chargrilled
-Lump Crab Cakes - Crab cakes hand-made, served with mustard cream
-Fried Okra-Whole split okra battered and fried, served with chili basil aioli
-Redfish Ponchartrain- Grilled with spices and topped with Ponchartrain sauce with shrimp and lump crabmeat, served with corn maque choux and dirty rice
-Red Beans & Rice - Camellia red beans with grilled Andouille sausage
-Grilled Lamb Chops - Frenched Lamb Chops marinated and grilled
with 3 Jumbo Shrimp
Red Velvet Cheesecake
