Tired of the same old thing? The usual is anything but "Your usual". Here you will find a mixture of elevated tavern fare with nods to a global cuisine located inside Arya peachtree in Buckhead. The decor is so inviting and it is a restaurant that is good for a date night, an outing with friends, or a place to grab a modern twist on a cocktail in a retro and swanky setting.
I started with the soft shell crab which was so meaty and flavorful. The breading was similar to what you would find on fried catfish and it was delicious. This dish was topped with a flower and accompanied by an arugula herb salad and saffron labneh.
For the mains, it was the battle of fish for me. The pan-roasted ga trout was made with spiced carrot puree, braised lentils, and seasonal vegetables. It was my first time trying lentils and I ate them all! They reminded me of Southern style sweet peas.
Next, I tried the fish of the day. This dish contained pan-roasted redfish, tomato ragu, cheesy grit cake, black garlic herb salad, and garlic crisp. This dish was a medley of flavors and the textures were on point. The fish had a mild, sweet flavor with a medium-firm texture.
