My day started in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood, which holds a special place in American history as the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. While there, I stopped by ABC Chicken and Waffles, a local eatery known for its delicious waffle flights. I was blown away by the hand-breaded organic chicken, which was cooked to perfection, and the scratch-made waffles, which were fluffy and flavorful. My favorite waffle was the Georgia Peach, which was topped with warm peach cobbler, and it was a true delight to the taste buds.
Next up was the ATL Rainbow Crosswalk, located at the intersection of Piedmont Avenue. The crosswalk is a celebration of the city's diversity, and it's impossible not to be drawn in by the bright and colorful display. While there, I checked out Casa Almenara, a restaurant specializing in authentic Mexican cuisine. I tried their delicious Abuela's Empanada and enjoyed a festive Cranberry Mimosa Margarita. The food and drinks were both delicious, and the atmosphere was lively and fun.
To cap off my day, I visited the Plaza Theatre, Atlanta's oldest operating cinema. I caught a showing of John Wick: Chapter 4 and indulged in some buttery movie theatre-style popcorn.
The Plaza Theatre is a must-visit spot for movie lovers and is a true gem of the city.
